Zehn D-INFK-Angehörige, Alumni und Spin-offs sind Digital Shapers 2021
Das Schweizer Wirtschaftsmagazin Bilanz hat seine jährliche Liste der Digital Shapers publiziert, welche die 100 wichtigsten Personen für die Digitalisierung der Schweiz kürt. Dazu gehören dieses Jahr Professor Adrian Perrig sowie einige Alumni und Spin-offs des Departements Informatik. (Englisch)
Every year, the bi-weekly business magazine Bilanz publishes a list of 100 people who have contributed the most to the digitalisation of Switzerland. This year, ten former and current members of the Department of computer science were included, with five more listed in the Hall of Fame. Congratulations to our Digital Shapers 2021!
The Cybersecurity Guards
The Cybersecurity Guards protect systems and data from cyber threats. They include the Federal Cyber Security Delegate Florian Schütz, D-INFK alumnus, as well as Professor Adrian Perrig, head of the Network Security Group, who aims to create a new, faster and more secure internet.

The Scalers
This category honours founders of highly successful start-ups, such as Samuel Müller of Scandit and Christian Grossmann of Beekeeper, both D-INFK spin-offs. Scandit offers innovative solutions for augmented reality and barcode scanning, while Beekeeper connects mobile workforces.

The Infrastructure Builders
The Infrastructure Builders create the necessary framework for digitalisation by providing infrastructure, creating platforms or defining rules and regulations. Daniel Markwalder, Federal Delegate for Digital Transformation and ICT Steering as of January 2021, is an important figure in this area – and also a D-INFK alumnus.
The Transformers
Transforming a business from analog to digital is where the Transformers excel. This category includes two D-INFK alumni, Thomas Wüst, CEO of ti&m, and Luc Haldimann, founder and CEO of Unblu.

Hall of Fame
A person may only be chosen as a Digital Shaper three times. Those who have already reached that number often continue to shape the digital landscape of Switzerland. They are featured in the Hall of Fame. Among them, Bilanz lists Professor Markus Gross, Head of the Computer Graphics Laboratory and Vice President of Research for The Walt Disney Studios. Joining him are notable D-INFK alumni, such as Urs Hölzle (Senior Vice President Engineering at Google), Georg Polzer (co-founder of the D-INFK spin-off Teralytics) and Thomas Dübendorfer (founder and president of the Swiss ICT Investor Club SICTIC), as well as Johannes Reck (CEO of the D-INFK spin-off Get Your Guide).
