2023 VIS Teaching Awards

VMware Early Career Faculty Award for Ana Klimovic
Professor Ana Klimovic has been chosen for a VMware Early Career Faculty Award which identifies recently-appointed faculty whose research interests and accomplishments seem poised to have significant impact within the industry and academia. Congratulations!
ACM SIGSAC Runner-Up Award for Samuel Steffen
For his thesis “A Programming Language Approach to Smart Contract Privacy”, former doctoral student Dr Samuel Steffen received the prestigious ACM SIGSAC Doctoral Dissertation Runner-Up Award. Congratulations!
RACKlette won the International Student Cluster Competition
The RACKlette team, consisting of six Computer Science Bachelor students, won the Computer Cluster Competition (SCC) at the International Supercomputing Conference in Denver, Colorado. Since the first edition of the SCC back in 2007, this is the first time that a European team has won the competition. Congratulations!
Four professors receive SNSF Starting Grants
Niao He, Ana Klimovic, Rasmus Kyng and Fanny Yang are among the recipients of a SNSF Starting Grant for their respective research projects. This grant is currently awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Congratulations!

World University Rankings 2024: Computer Science ranked 5th
The Times Higher Education Subject Rankings 2024 have been annouced: ETH Zurich placed among the world’s top 20 with five subjects. In Computer Science, ETH ranked 5th. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this success.
