ETH Student Summer Research Fellowship
The Student Summer Research Fellowship (ETH SSRF) programme offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain their first research experience in an area of their choice. The fellowship provided by the Computer Science Department of ETH takes place during two summer months and is open to all students worldwide. The department is committed to increasing diversity in the computer science area.

ETH Zurich and EPFL enhance collaboration to boost AI in Switzerland
ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne are intensifying their collaboration in artificial intelligence. They have founded the Swiss National AI Institute (SNAI) to address challenges in AI by leveraging their broad scientific expertise. The new institute draws on the expertise from various AI research disciplines as well as on the ETH AI Center and the EPFL AI Center.

Fraudsters, armed with just moderate technical skills and inexpensive technology, could use someone else’s payment card, mobile phone, or smartwatch to make contactless payments at a distant location without the victim’s consent. ETH Zurich researchers have developed a security solution that protects consumers against this threat.
Predictions of the effect of drugs on individual cells are now possible
Experts from ETH Zurich including Professor Gunnar Rätsch, the University of Zurich, and the University Hospital Zurich have used machine learning to jointly create an innovative method. This new approach can predict how individual cells react to specific treatments, offering hope for more accurate diagnoses and therapeutics.
