A Summer of Learning and Adventure
The SSRF programme has started! Two months full of research, socialising and getting to know Switzerland lie ahead of our 20 visiting undergraduate and graduate students.
On 3 July, 20 students from all over the world started their Student Summer Research Fellowship (ETH SSRF) at the Department of Computer Science. They get the opportunity to gain research experience during their studies in an area of their choice, like Information & System Security, Visual Computing and many more. During their stay, the students work within a research team on their chosen topic. Plenty of socialising events and excursions are also on the agenda until the end of August: A Zurich City Tour, hiking in the Stoos mountain region and a visit to the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) in Lugano are only a part of the planned activities.
The department is committed to increasing diversity in the field of computer science, which is why there is an equal gender distribution. Apart from the Student Summer Research Fellowship, there are other two summer projects at ETH called the Amgen Scholarship and ETH Robotics Student Fellowship. Günther Dissertori, the Rector of ETH Zurich, has jointly welcomed all the participants on their first day.
We wish our fellows an exciting two months with lots of good moments and insights!
