Convey enthusiasm for computer science
On this morning, 18 children attended the course "Exploring the World of Computer Science Through Puzzles." Using magic tricks and sorting methods, Jeannine Marty demonstrated the role of logic in the world of computer science. She introduced the topic of data privacy with various ciphers, and the children diligently puzzled to decipher the encrypted messages. Jeannine Marty is a teacher at the ABZ and teaches computer science at various schools. The morning concluded with a tree sudoku, which the students completed using existing information to extract further information from given data. At the end of the programme, the group was richly equipped with new experiences and two textbooks containing further puzzles and core concepts of computer science.
The aim of this programme is to inspire enthusiasm for computer science and at the same time teach the children how solution-oriented thinking can be applied.
