Spin-off Tinamu Labs has secured CHF 1 million in pre-series A round
The indoor drone company Tinamu Labs, a spin-off from the Department of Computer Science, has secured fresh capital in a pre-series A financing round of CHF 1 million to speed up growth and development.
The ETH spin-off Tinamu Labs has closed one million Swiss francs in a recent pre-series A financing round. The company, founded in 2019, specialises in indoor drone flight and workflow automation with a focus on flexible solutions for automated inventory monitoring for bulk cargo. Companies in industries such as mining, commodity trading, and construction rely on this service, despite predominantly using manual methods to measure stockpile volumes and report through paper and Excel. However, this manual process proves to be slow, costly, time-consuming, and prone to errors, resulting in low accuracy.
Previously focusing on the countries Switzerland, Belgium and France, the spin-off is now expanding its activities in other locations to deliver a solution addressing current supply chain and operations challenges.
“This is an exciting moment for our team. We are seeing an increasing number of clients benefiting from our services, which validates the innovative technology we have developed. Considering the significant potential for geographical and industrial expansion, we are planning a Series A funding round to support our upcoming global growth”Tobias Nägeli, CEO of Tinamu Labs
Tinamu Labs has established a recent technology partnership with Parrot, a commercial drone manufacturer. Through this collaboration, the company can offer its clients a solution that includes both hardware and software components. Customers, such as Kibag (as shown in the external page video), a Swiss company operating in the building materials and construction sector, have experienced the advantages of an automated workflow. This process enables them to achieve rapid, precise, and cost-effective periodic volume measurements of their stockpiles.
With the newly closed funding round, Tinamu Labs is planning to strengthen its team and speed up expansion activities.
