Google PhD Fellowship for Clara Meister
Clara Meister, doctoral student at Rycolab at the Department of Computer Science, was awarded the prestigious Google PhD Fellowship. The Fellowship programme was created to recognise outstanding students doing innovative research in areas relevant to computer science.
Clara Meister, who is currently doing her doctorate in Professor Ryan Cotterell's group within the Institute for Machine Learning, has won the Google PhD Fellowship in NLP (Natural Language Processing). She received her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Stanford University in Computational and Mathematical Engineering. In her research, Clara Meister is passionate about general applications of statistics and information theory to natural language processing techniques. Lately, her focus has been on decoding methods for probabilistic language generation models.
Google PhD Fellowships directly support students as they pursue their doctorate, as well as connect them to a Google Research Mentor. The programme aims to support exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields.
