Theodoros Theodoridis, doctoral student at the Advanced Software Technologies (AST) Lab led by Professor Zhendong Su, received two awards at the ASPLOS 2022 conference for his work on optimising compilers. A best paper award went to the paper “Understanding and Exploiting Optimal Function Inlining”, which Theodoridis published with Su and Tobias Grosser, formerly a senior scientist at the Scalable Parallel Computing Laborators (SPCL) at ETH Zurich. A second paper, entitled “Finding Missed Optimizations through the Lens of Dead Code Elimination”, which Theodoridis co-authored with Manuel Rigger and Zhendong Su, received a distinguished artifact award.
