Informatics Olympiad for young women: Geneva student wins Switzerland’s second gold medal

Women compete for medals not only in soccer – but also in computer science. At the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI), held from 14–20 July in Germany, a participant from Geneva won Switzerland’s second-ever gold medal since the competition was founded four years ago. Mixed Swiss teams also saw recent success, for example at the Western European Olympiad in Informatics, where they earned seven medals, including gold for a student from Geneva.
