"I set up my office space in a bright corner"
Can you give a brief description of your home office work routine?
As far as possible, I try to maintain the same routine as in the ETH office. Since I move around in my home office less than at ETH, I take breaks to stretch my legs. To enjoy the sun, I have my meals in the fresh air in the garden, if possible.
Do you have any specific advice that makes working from home easier?
An important prerequisite is a good internet connection to meet virtually over Skype and Zoom and hold meetings that way. I also set up my office space in a quiet, bright corner so that I can concentrate and work well.
What is your strategy to cope with cabin fever when working from home?
Maintain daily social exchanges with family members, friends and colleagues, as well as spending time in the fresh air and exercising (currently unfortunately only within my own four walls).

What do you like most about working from home?
Due to the interruptions that occur automatically in the office at ETH, I can concentrate better at home and am therefore more efficient. I also spend more time with my husband these days because we both work from home. This is a new and very nice experience!
What is your current menu plan?
In the evenings, we cook together and try out different recipes. Doing so, we make our menu plan varied and use as many fresh ingredients as possible.
Do you have a recommendation for an app that might be useful at this particular time?
Spending the leisure time at home offers a great opportunity to acquire new knowledge, such as to learn a language. I personally have had good experiences with Duolingo to refresh my French. And, of course, I maintain social contacts over Skype and Facetime. It is important that we take care of each other (virtually) so that nobody feels alone.
