Prof. Markus Gross selected as member of the ACM SIGGRAPH Academy

The ACM SIGGRAPH Academy honours Prof. Markus Gross with a membership for his contributions in computer graphics and interactive techniques.

Prof. Markus Gross is a Professor of Computer Science at ETH Zurich. He heads the Computer Graphics Laboratory and is the Vice President Research and the Director of Disney Research|Studios. His research interests include physically based modeling, computer animation, immersive displays, and video technology. This year, Prof. Markus Gross was selected as a member of the ACM SIGGRAPH Academy (Special Interest Group on Computer GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques). His membership is due to his contritubions to point-based graphics, 3D capture and video technology, and physics-based animation, and for founding an influential industrial research laboratory.

2019 has been a successful year for Prof. Markus Gross. In February, he and his research fellows from ETH Zurich and Disney Research received a Sci-Tech Oscar in Hollywood for their capture system, Medusa.
