Additional information
Research area
Olga Sorkine-Hornung’s research focuses on computer graphics, geometric modeling and geometry processing. She is interested in the theoretical foundations and practical algorithms for digital content creation, such as shape representation and editing, artistic modeling techniques, digital fabricatio, computer animation and image and video processing. She works on fundamental problems in digital geometry processing, including parameterization of discrete surfaces and compression of geometric data.
Olga Sorkine-Hornung is Full Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science, where she leads the Interactive Geometry Lab.
She was born in the Moscow Region, Russia.
2000 she earned her BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University, Israel, and 2006 her PhD in Computer Science from the same university.
2006-2008 she worked as a Postdoc at the Technical University Berlin, Germany.
2008-2011 she held a position as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences of the New York University, NY, USA.
